THE STATE OF OUR UNION IS STRONG!

MY RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP'S 2ND STATE OF THE UNION ADDRES

History was made in the House Chamber on February 5, 2019, when President Donald J. Trump delivered his second State of the Union Address. President Trump's Second State of the Union Address was the most monumental and remarkable State of the Union Address I have ever heard. The President was interrupted more than 100 times by applause during his Address, and had the entire chamber, including both sides of the aisle standing, cheering, and chanting “USA, USA, USA”. This also marks the first State of the Union that the entire chamber sang "Happy Birthday" to one of the President's guests.

President Trump showed true leadership in a time when America needs it most. The President walked into the House Chamber after the longest Shutdown in U.S. History and laid out his plan for the future.  The President gave a very unifying speech that brought members of both parties together. I am amazed at how good of a job the President did of bringing both sides together and like I previously said even, had infamous Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren, and even more, applauding and cheering at some point in the Address.

I appreciate President Trump speaking on Abortion and confirming his strong determination to end late-term abortion. President Trump also announced that he will meet with Kim Jong Un for a second time, on February 27-28 in Vietnam. These are just some of the historic achievements that were discussed during the Address. I am very disappointed in the Democratic party for putting politics over American Progress and not standing or applauding for things like when the President spoke about topics like the record-low unemployment rates under this administration. The Democratic women, dressed in white, sat on their hands unless they were applauding for themselves!

The President also did a great job of detailing his plan for immigration and the Crisis at our Southern Border. During the Address, the President called for both parties to work together saying,"...Let's work together, compromise and reach a deal that will truly make America Safe". I think that after this Address, and in the final days until the February 15 border compromise deadline set by the President, at least some members of both parties can hopefully come together and make a plan BEFORE the President has to declare a State of Emergency.

In conclusion, I believe that all of America (Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, etc.) want to hear the TRUE success of our country (even if they don't want to show it) and how the State of our Union is Strong!

Below, are some of my favorite quotes from the President during his Address:

"We are born free, and we will stay free.  Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country."

“Over the last 2 years, my Administration has moved with urgency and historic speed to confront problems neglected by leaders of both parties over many decades . . . the fact is, we are just getting started.”

"We must always keep faith in America's destiny—that one Nation, under God, must be the hope and the promise and the light and the glory among all the nations of the world!"

"As we begin a new Congress, I stand here ready to work with you to achieve historic breakthroughs for all Americans."
