5 Years of Fighting Fake News

Hey y’all! Today marks the 5 year anniversary of The Truth Gazette! I wanted to hop on and sincerely express my appreciation and reflect on the past 5 years of fighting the Fake News! I don’t know how I would’ve done it without the support of each and every one of you! Seriously! Each and every one of you! Supporter or troll - I wouldn’t still be here today without you following me and supporting me along the way, so thank you!

How it’s been 5 years…well, I have no idea! I constantly have people tell me that there’s no such thing as the American Dream or that the American Dream is dead! Well I’m here today as LIVING PROOF that the American Dream is alive and well! It’s feels like just yesterday I turned off the TV and was frustrated with the Fake News Media and sat down to type out what would be The Truth Gazette’s First Article! When I started this whole thing it was a small one-page Word document article sent to a few family members. No social media, no fancy graphics, no viral hashtags, no nothing. Just a simple word document sent in a family email chain. 5 years later one of my recent articles has been shared on social media by the 45th President of the United States and all together I have a global outreach of well over 200,000 followers across the world! That’s insane!

5 years ago I started out with my first-ever interview in the Alabama State House and have gone from interviewing a State Senator to the President of the United State’s Son, Ranking Members of Congress, Cabinet Secretaries, Top Political Commentators, 4 White House Press Secretaries, and dozens of other key political figures in our nation’s politics! I’ve broken several exclusives in my interviews that have created national news stories including in a recent sit-down with Ted Cruz where he revealed his interest in a 2024 run for President that made the cover of national outlets and led the day in political coverage! I’ve also hosted my own podcast, “The Brilyn Hollyhand Show”, released a merchandise line, written dozens of articles discussing everything under the sun, and hosted live election night coverages!

I founded The Truth Gazette a few weeks after I turned 11. I just turned 16 a few weeks ago. Life has changed a lot since I’ve started The Truth Gazette! I’ve started and graduated middle school, finished my first year of high school, and got my Drivers License! But it’s not about me, it’s about y’all! So thank you - each and every one of you - for believing in me enough to click that follow button, or watch my interviews, or subscribe to my email list, or stop me and talk to me at events. Thank you. I am forever grateful!

Today's a big day, one that each and every one of you deserve to celebrate along with me. They said I would never make it a few months. An 11-year-old in politics could not survive, but thanks to you I did. And I not only survived but I have thrived. I don’t know how I made it this far but we have! It’s been the shortest, most fun 5 years of my life and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! And the best part is, it’s not over yet! I’m not stopping anytime soon! So if you’re a ragging liberal who read all of this waiting for me to say I’m hanging my hat up, I’m sorry…because I’m not finished yet! In fact, I’m just getting started!

God Bless the Supreme Court…and Donald Trump

America woke up to historic news last Friday. Fifty years after the Supreme Court decided that abortion was a “right” and would be legal across the country, the same court sent it back to the states and overturned the infamous ruling. In the 50 years Roe v. Wade was the law of the land, 63+ million babies were murdered. Now it’s up to the individual states, and within days of the Supreme Court ruling (and in some cases just hours), states across the country have implemented various forms of abortion bans.

Roe v. Wade has now joined the trash heap of history and will go down in the history books as an unconstitutional ruling that was one of the biggest mistakes in the history of our country, leading to a period of deadly genocide of generations of Americans. People who had the potential to carry out their American Dream and do great things, just like you and I, were murdered in cold blood because of the disastrous unconstitutional Roe v. Wade ruling. There will be a lot of buzz in the next few weeks and months, but one thing remains true regardless of partisanship: It is now my generation’s turn to become the Post Roe generation. Abortion is not a right. Abortion is not healthcare. Anybody who tries to tell you otherwise doesn’t understand the basic definition of a “right” or “healthcare”. After 50 years, that ruling has been struck down for what it was - unconstitutional. This is a huge win for life.

While this was the most covered decision from the Supreme Court in decades, it wasn’t the only major decision the court made that week. The day before Roe v. Wade was overturned, the court decided in a 6-3 vote that Americans have a right to carry firearms in public for self-defense. This case came about because New York had a law on the books infringing on citizens’ rights, saying that they needed to provide a specific reason to carry a firearm. That directly goes against the Second Amendment, which explicitly says, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. New York was trying to say that residents of the state needed to have a permit to carry a gun in public. To get a permit, they must show that they have a specific reason for wanting to carry in public, and this specific reason has to be greater than a member of the general public might normally need. The state was forcing citizens to show a special need for carrying a gun in public, so it should come as no surprise that the highest court in the land charged with defending the constitution struck this down as well for what it was - unconstitutional. This is a huge win for your Second Amendment rights!

As if a monumental decision on gun rights and overturning Roe v. Wade wasn’t enough for one week, the Supreme Court decided Monday to rule on the case of a Washington state football coach whose post-game prayer on the 50-yard line cost him his job. The court ruled that Coach Kennedy’s prayer was protected by the First Amendment, which states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”. The First Amendment guarantees Americans freedom of religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. Coach Kennedy was fired from his job for expressing his right to religion in 2015, and this week after his case finally made it to the Supreme Court, the court ruled in his favor setting a precedent across the country protecting your religious rights! This is a huge win for religious freedom!

Some would say after these recent conservative victories in the Supreme Court it’s the most triggered the liberals have been since a businessman was elected to The White House in 2016. That businessman was Donald Trump, and he ran a campaign promising to appoint conservative judges and justices across the country. In 2020, he ran a re-election campaign with the slogan, “Promises Made, Promises Kept”, and that’s exactly what his four years in office consisted of. In one term as President, Donald Trump appointed not one, not two, but three staunch conservatives to the Supreme Court who made these three significant rulings in the past week possible. The credit for these conservative victories goes to the justices who weren’t afraid to stand up against the mob and vote the way they thought was constitutionally correct, but it also equally goes to Donald Trump, who made three-lifetime conservative appointments in four years.

The Supreme Court has now entered recess until October, but when they come back, we can only expect more constitutional victories to come, thanks to the majority made possible by President Trump!

First Afghanistan, Then Ukraine. Is Taiwan Next?

Just a few months ago, the world watched in horror as Afghanistan was taken over by terrorists. Joe Biden had been in office for six months, and he had already failed miserably on the world stage. The United States basically gave up. Everyone was watching as our weakness was portrayed to the world. Vladimir Putin was also watching.

As the Taliban literally walked into Kabul and everyone else fled, Vladimir Putin was watching. He saw how botched the U.S. retreat was, and he saw how easy it was to invade a sovereign nation without any repercussions. So, he decided that now was the perfect time to carry out his dream plan.

To truly understand what’s going on in the Russian invasion you have to understand the mindset of Vladimir Putin. He’s a former KGB agent who has adamantly expressed his dream to bring Russia back to its height of global power during its Soviet Union days. No, that’s not a conspiracy theory, he has expressed that publicly numerous times. Putin is going to claim that he’s invading Ukraine because he feels “threatened” by them wanting to join NATO, but we all know that’s not the real reason. He would have invaded without reason at all as the NATO “threat” is just a good excuse to throw out there in an attempt to cover up his war crimes. What everyone has to understand is that it doesn’t stop in Ukraine. In fact, Ukraine is just the start. Now that Putin has a taste of more global power and more control in Europe, he won’t stop. There are a lot of countries bordering Russia that he can easily invade and take over next. That’s why it’s so pivotal that we can’t show weakness and put a stop to this.

At the end of the day, this all could have been avoided and it was all predicted. Donald Trump predicted this type of invasion if weakness was shown and made it clear to Putin that an invasion of Ukraine would not happen under his administration. In a New York Post article published this week, they reported that Trump warned Putin, "“If you move against Ukraine while I’m president, I will hit Moscow.”…Putin reportedly scoffed, “No way,” leading Trump to say, “All those beautiful golden turrets will be blown up.”…Trump reportedly told Xi that any military move against Taiwan would be met with an attack on Beijing. Xi, like Putin, is said to have been stunned.”. It’s not a coincidence that Putin didn’t make a move in the 4 years Trump was in office but he invades Ukraine with Biden in office for just a little over a year. At the end of the day, it’s not a partisan talking point, it’s the truth: Donald Trump showed strength and now Joe Biden is showing weakness. Trump was right, again. Obama was right as well. As you may or may not remember, he infamously said privately while Biden was considering a run for President, “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up!”. Robert Gates was right too. He was the Secretary of Defense under the Obama/Biden administration and warned that Joe Biden had “gotten a lot wrong” in the past when it comes to foreign policy.

As Russian troops are attempting to take over the sovereign nation of Ukraine city by city, the world is watching again. The world is watching The United States fail on foreign policy promises again. And this time, Xi Jinping is watching. He’s watching how easy it is to invade an independent nation without being stopped. If this pattern continues, China will attempt to invade Taiwan next, and from Xi Jinping’s point of view, now is the best time. The Beijing Olympics are over and nothing is holding them back. The morning after Russia invaded Ukraine, Taiwan reported that Chinese aircraft had invaded their airspace and were flying over their country. China is making moves, and if we don’t stand up, they will try to invade Taiwan.
